Where I’m from: I was born and raised in the Illinois Valley, growing up in Putnam County (Mark, to be exact) while eventually settling in Princeton.

Things I enjoy: I enjoy all things music (listening to, watching, playing and writing), complex board games, tabletop rpgs and delicious food.

Something interesting about me: I’ve come to become a collector of felt pennants, having accumulated 3 dozen or so. To this end, I’ve become selective when it comes to adding to my collection. Ideally, the pennant is made of real felt, has tails intact, and has some personal connection to my life (for example, if it’s a location ideally I would have visited there before).

Why I love working with Midwest Partners: Having lived in the Illinois Valley my whole life, it’s just about the only location I feel comfortable claiming as my own.  Every time I travel, I’m consciously or unconsciously on the lookout for ideas, businesses or projects that would benefit our community. Rather than sitting and wishing for some mystery person or persons to show up and transform our community, Midwest Partners offers the opportunity to work with like-minded people willing to do the work themselves or at least facilitate the work on behalf of others. In the end, I gravitate towards people and projects that aim to use your skills and time for the benefit of one’s community.

Nonprofits I support: National Public Radio, The Bike Place, Black Girls Code, Asian Mental Health Collective

Work history: As Creative Director of the digital agency Modern Tribe, I have led design and digital strategy efforts on software, app and website projects for clients such as Harvard University, Microsoft, Mozilla and eBay.
